In ECOC Workshop WS 5, ten speakers from academia and industry presented current and future examples of electronic-photonic signal processing circuits enabled by photonic integration and addressed their challenges and limitations. The list of invited speakers included presenters from Google, Microsoft, IBM, Huawei, Sicoya, Effect Photonics, and others. A panel discussed key trends. The workshop was held virtually and was very well attended.
