This year's Summer School took place at the Teatinos Campus of the University of Malaga. Here, the PhD students were able to improve their knowledge in topics such as "Photonic Circuit Design", "Modeling and Measurement of Noise in Optical Systems" and "Effects of Phase Noise and Jitter", etc. They presented their previous results in a poster session. Invited talks were given by Wim Bogaerts (Ghent University), Jeremy Witzens (RWTH Aachen University), Christoph Scheytt (University of Paderborn) and Robert Halir (University of Malaga). An attractive social program in the beautiful old town of Malaga rounded off the Summerschool.
